I suffered a lot under some very dictatorial, moody, and egotistical leaders. I also had some great leaders and mentors, most of whom were women. Over time I started leading teams in big corporations, and I became selfishly fascinated with how I could get my people more engaged and willing to go the extra mile. I saw that most people considered their job merely as a means of survival, which meant that they were ultimately disengaged beyond getting their paycheck deposited in their bank account. I become a “selfish missionary” on a mission to get my people more engaged.

At first, I thought something was wrong with them, but later I discovered that it was about the workplace culture as a whole—and about the way I related with my team. After going through some intensive coaching and self-searching, my leadership style changed from autocratic to a more versatile coaching approach. This had a profound effect on my relationships, and I was able to turn dreaded conflicts into constructive opportunities.

Eventually, I changed my career from corporate to entrepreneurial, and I founded and grew three of my own businesses to success. I worked around the globe and moved my two kids and wife to a new country. I have truly transformed my life. I have discovered that a number of core tools and principles are missing from our education system, such as how to find purpose, how to coach and handle conflicts, and how to lead with self-awareness. I decided that I wanted to share my success and the tools that helped me get there, and since 2007, I have coached thousands of people on getting to the next level in their lives and businesses.
